Heat pain in the spinal cord

Chronic pain affects millions, yet we still don't fully understand how pain signals travel through the spinal cord. This project uses ultra high field MRI to visualize those pathways in real time.

Topics: Pain, fMRI, Spinal Cord

Spinal cord stimulation

The spinal cord is a small but powerful organ which influences how we move, feel, and process pain. With transcutaneous spinal direct current stimulation (tsDCS), we can now try to non-invasively nudge its excitability, in order to find out whether this mild electrical adjustment has an effect on the way the spinal cord processes pain reflexes in humans.

Lab Setup

The lab started as a collection of devices with no shared language. I built the system that brought them together.

Topics: Hardware integration, multimodal pain stimulation

Exploring Power BI

This project grew out of my goal to master Power BI — and Germany's childcare data turned out to be the perfect playground for learning. While exploring participation rates, educator ratios, and care hours, I discovered both the strengths and the quirks of Power BI that shaped my path toward the official certification.

Topics: PowerBI, Dashboard Creation

Illuminated doctoral hat (Arduino)

I asked "what if I could build a whole stage on a hat?" and in the end I found myself learning how to solder.
